College and Career Center in our Guidance Department College Visitation Schedule Forthcoming The College and Career Center would like to welcome all students and parents to our center. We are staffed by trained volunteers who are mentored by our guidance department. Located in the guidance wing, first door on the right, the C and C, is open during both lunch periods and after school from 2:10 to 3:30, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Students do not need a pass to come to the center, but need to leave promptly when their lunch period is over. NO PASSES WILL BE GIVEN TO RETURN TO CLASS. Parents are welcome to visit any time during our posted hours. Be sure to check in at the front desk. We have information for the career-minded student as well as information for the college bound student. We can assist you in the college search process, as well as the application process. We have information on Florida and out-of-state (and country) schools. Our military section, arts and culinary section, and vocational education sections continue to grow. Most materials are available for checkout. We have information on SAT, ACT, ASFAB, Bright Futures, and FASFA. If it has an acronym we've got it!! We also handle a scholarship file for our students. The information is usually posted on the Scrolling Announcements and here on the website. The C and C is also a resource for Community Service opportunities. If your business or organization has opportunities for the students and would like to recruit students, please let us know! If your student needs hours to complete in order to qualify for Bright Futures, come see us as soon as possible. It is recommended that the student bring a Community Service Form to the business or organization so that they can get it signed off for the hours worked. The completed form should then be turned into the students' guidance counselor. One of the greatest rewards our volunteers receive for their hours and hours of service in the C and C is to see the smiling faces of the students when they come in to sign our acceptance board. Seniors may come in and sign it when they get their acceptances to college. We want that board filled from corner to corner! Juniors and Seniors - we want to know you by name!
